According to police reports, the young girl, who was a Class 5 student at a local school, returned home after her classes on Monday afternoon. While her parents were away, she was playing with her younger siblings at their home in a layout within Kakupalli village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Nellore rural police station. In an unexpected and heartbreaking turn, she reportedly hanged herself on the veranda of the house.

Nellore rural circle inspector Venu provided details on the police action, stating that they received information about the incident around 6 pm and immediately rushed to the spot. "Preliminary inquiry suggests that the girl attempted suicide earlier but was stopped by her siblings. Later, she allegedly used a bucket and a saree to hang herself when no one intervened," he explained.
