Hazaribag: 10 Members of Rahul Dubey Gang Held in Urimari Firing Case
10 Rahul Dubey Gang Members Arrested in Hazaribag Firing Case

In a significant crackdown, Jharkhand Police have apprehended ten individuals linked to the infamous Rahul Dubey criminal syndicate. The arrests are connected to a firing incident that occurred on New Year's Eve in the Hazaribag district.

Gang Split and Widespread Criminal Network

Police officials revealed that the Rahul Dubey gang emerged after the elimination of notorious gangster Aman Sahu. Following Sahu's downfall, his network fractured into two factions. One group is now led by Rahul Singh, while the other is commanded by Rahul Dubey.

The Dubey-led faction faces serious allegations across several districts in Jharkhand. The gang is accused of involvement in numerous criminal cases related to firing, extortion, threats, and murder in Ranchi, Hazaribag, Ramgarh, Chatra, and Latehar.

The Urimari Firing and Police Operation

The case stems from an attack where assailants opened fire near the residence of Dasai Manjhi in Hesabera, located within the Hazaribag district. The Rahul Dubey gang reportedly claimed responsibility for this act of violence, prompting the registration of a formal case at the Urimari police outpost.

Detailing the operation, Superintendent of Police Anjani Anjan stated that on the night of January 7, law enforcement received critical intelligence. The information indicated that Shiv Raj, also known as Shiva, a key member of the Dubey gang, along with his accomplices, was planning criminal activities near the Baghariya football ground in Urimari.

Acting swiftly on this tip-off, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer Amit Anand moved into action. The police team successfully arrested nine suspects directly from the spot, though a few others managed to escape. Subsequently, one more individual was apprehended from the surrounding area, bringing the total arrests to ten.

Weapons Seized and Confessions Obtained

The police haul from the arrested individuals was substantial. Authorities recovered five country-made pistols, seventeen live cartridges, and six mobile phones from the accused.

SP Anjan further emphasized the gang's extensive criminal footprint. "The gang was involved in multiple incidents of firing and extortion across Jharkhand," he said. He added that several of those arrested have confessed to their roles in prior crimes, including earlier firing incidents in Murkunda and Kujju.

This coordinated operation marks a crucial step in dismantling a feared criminal network that has terrorized residents and businesses across several districts. The investigation remains ongoing as police work to apprehend the remaining fugitives and uncover the full extent of the gang's illegal activities.
