A distressing burglary incident has been reported from the Kakori area of Lucknow, where miscreants broke into a locked house and made off with cash and jewellery valued at approximately ₹10.3 lakh. The theft occurred while the homeowner and his family were away on a religious pilgrimage to Maihar in Madhya Pradesh.
Family Returns to Find Home Ransacked After Religious Trip
Rajpal Yadav, a software engineer employed with a private firm, informed police that he had departed with his family for Maihar on Friday, leaving their residence securely locked. The house remained unoccupied for three consecutive days. Upon their return on Sunday night, the family was confronted with a scene of devastation.
"When we returned on Sunday night, we found the main door locks completely broken and our entire house thoroughly ransacked," Yadav stated in his formal police complaint, describing the shocking discovery that awaited them.
Methodical Theft: Burglars Selectively Target Valuables
According to preliminary police investigations, the burglars exhibited a calculated approach during the crime. They systematically broke open multiple almirahs and storage boxes, selectively removing valuable items while conducting an extensive search of the premises.
The stolen items include approximately ₹30,000 in cash along with jewellery worth nearly ₹10 lakh. The missing ornaments comprise gold chains, earrings, anklets, and various other precious pieces. Investigators noted that clothes were found scattered across different rooms, indicating the thieves conducted a comprehensive search to locate hidden valuables.
Police Launch Investigation, Scan CCTV Footage for Clues
Kakori police responded promptly upon receiving information about the burglary. Officers reached the crime scene and have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter. Authorities are currently examining CCTV footage obtained from neighboring houses and surrounding routes in an effort to identify potential suspects.
"We are actively scanning all available surveillance footage from the vicinity and nearby pathways to trace the movements of those involved in this incident," a police official confirmed. Dedicated efforts are underway to track down the perpetrators responsible for this substantial theft.
This incident serves as a reminder for residents to enhance security measures when planning extended absences from their homes, particularly during holiday seasons or religious trips when properties may remain vulnerable to such criminal activities.
