The meet was organized by local social welfare groups and health activists to provide a platform for HIV-positive individuals to find companionship without stigma. Around 50 participants attended, with several matches being finalized. Organizers ensured that all attendees were counselled on health management and family planning.
According to the event coordinator, "This initiative aims to reduce social discrimination and help HIV-affected persons lead a normal married life." The meet also included sessions on legal rights and access to antiretroviral therapy.
