UP MSME Minister Reviews Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan Progress in Kanpur
In a significant move to boost youth entrepreneurship, Uttar Pradesh MSME Minister Rakesh Sachan chaired a tri-divisional review meeting of the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan in Kanpur. The meeting brought together officials from Kanpur, Jhansi, and Chitrakoot divisions to assess progress and address bottlenecks in the scheme's implementation.
Addressing Pending Applications and Disbursements
During the review, officials highlighted that a total of 4,200 applications were pending at the bank level across the three divisions. Additionally, disbursement was pending in 788 sanctioned cases. Minister Sachan issued a stern directive to bank officers, emphasizing the need for speedy disposal of these applications to ensure timely support for aspiring entrepreneurs.
Division-Wise Performance Breakdown
Kanpur Division: Against an annual target of 11,700 applications, the division forwarded 25,289 applications to banks. Of these, 10,514 were sanctioned and 10,002 were disbursed. However, 2,065 applications remained pending, and disbursement in 512 sanctioned cases was ordered to be completed by March 31, 2026.
Jhansi Division: This division forwarded 14,902 applications, with 5,838 sanctioned and 5,609 disbursed. A total of 1,974 applications were pending, and disbursement in 503 sanctioned cases was yet to be completed.
Chitrakoot Division: Officials reported 10,082 applications forwarded, of which 4,803 were sanctioned and 4,761 were disbursed. There were 1,016 applications pending for sanction and 47 sanctioned cases awaiting disbursement.
Enhancing Transparency and Accountability
Minister Sachan also reviewed cases that were rejected or reverted without adequate grounds. He stressed that applications should not be turned down merely to reduce pendency, urging officials to ensure fair and transparent processing. In response, officials stated that the scheme's portal had been modified to make it mandatory to record reasons before any rejection, thereby enhancing accountability.
Furthermore, bank branches showing zero progress were identified during the meeting, and corrective action was ordered to address these inefficiencies. This step aims to streamline operations and improve the overall effectiveness of the scheme.

The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Divisional Commissioner K Vijayendra Pandiyan, State Nodal Officer Sarveshwar Shukla, Joint Commissioner Industries Kanpur Division Sunil Kumar, Joint Commissioner Industries Chitrakoot Division Sudhir Kumar Shrivastav, Joint Commissioner Industries Jhansi Division Sudhanshu Tiwari, and SLBC Representative Bhawani Shankar Paridha, among others.
