Uttar Pradesh Government Launches Comprehensive Helpline for Farmers
In a significant move to support the agricultural community, Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi officially inaugurated a dedicated helpline for farmers on Wednesday. This innovative initiative, launched from Lucknow, aims to streamline access to vital agricultural information through a single, convenient phone call.
Simplifying Access to Agricultural Resources
The newly established helpline will operate directly from the state's agriculture directorate, providing farmers with a centralized resource for all their informational needs. Minister Shahi emphasized that the primary objective of this service is to eliminate the need for farmers to navigate multiple offices or departments to obtain crucial details about government schemes and programs.
"Farmers can now access comprehensive information about grants, various agricultural schemes, solar pump installations, and other departmental programs simply by making a phone call from their mobile devices," Shahi stated during the launch ceremony.
Comprehensive Information Available
The helpline offers extensive coverage of agricultural topics, including:
- Details about subsidies on agricultural machinery, seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides
- Information related to solar pump programs and installations
- Access to digital agricultural survey data and farmer registry information
- Guidance on agricultural inputs, beneficial schemes, and new machinery
- Updates on agricultural research and experimental programs
Operational Details and Accessibility
Farmers across Uttar Pradesh can utilize this service from Monday to Friday, between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, by dialing 0522-2317003. This structured timing ensures consistent availability while maintaining operational efficiency.
Minister Shahi highlighted that this initiative will empower farmers to enhance their agricultural production and profitability by providing easy access to information about modern farming techniques, government support programs, and technological advancements in agriculture.
Government Support and Implementation
The launch event witnessed participation from key agricultural department officials, including Secretary of Agriculture Indra Vikram Singh, Director of Agriculture Pankaj Tripathi, Additional Director Ashutosh Mishra, and Joint Director Bureau Akhilesh Kumar Singh. Their presence underscored the government's commitment to implementing this farmer-centric initiative effectively.
This helpline represents a practical step toward digital empowerment in agriculture, reducing bureaucratic hurdles and making government schemes more accessible to the farming community throughout Uttar Pradesh.
