UP Farmer Registry: 2.28 Crore Farmers Registered

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government announced on Monday that its farmer registry campaign, aimed at providing transparent and swift benefits of government schemes to farmers, is now yielding significant results on a large scale.

Registration Progress

A government spokesperson confirmed that more than 2.28 crore farmers have been registered so far, achieving 79.10% of the target set by the central government. The campaign was launched on November 5, 2024, with a goal of registering 2,88,70,495 farmers in the state.

According to the latest data, 2,28,36,658 farmers have been enrolled, while registration of approximately 60,33,837 farmers remains pending. Based on current progress, the process of creating farmer IDs is expected to be completed by August 20 this year.

Digital Database and Benefits

The spokesperson emphasized that the government’s objective is to create an integrated digital database of farmers, enabling them to receive benefits from schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, Fasal Bima, Krishi Anudan, Rin Suvidha (loan facilities), and other programs directly and transparently.

The state government’s priority extends beyond registration to the complete digitalization and transparency of land and farmer records. In this context, the work of “Ansh Nirdharan” (share determination) is also progressing rapidly.

Land Record Accuracy

According to available data, 87.19% of the share determination work has been completed in Uttar Pradesh. This will enhance the accuracy of land records and help reduce future disputes.

Officials believe that the farmer registry can bring a major transformation to the state’s agricultural system. It will assist the government in identifying genuine farmers, monitoring schemes, and formulating more effective agriculture-based policies. At the same time, farmers will find it easier to receive government assistance.
