A significant pre-event awareness programme for the upcoming UP Energy Expo (UPEX) 2026 was successfully conducted at Vikas Bhawan in Prayagraj on Friday. This initiative marks a crucial step in building momentum for the major energy exhibition scheduled for next year.

Organizers and Partners Behind the Initiative

The programme was organized through a collaborative effort involving the UP State Chapter of PHDCCI and First View, in association with UPNEDA (Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency), the Uttar Pradesh government, and SEVA. The event received valuable support from KEI Industries Limited, highlighting the broad-based industry participation in renewable energy development.

Chief Development Officer of Prayagraj, Harshika Singh, emphasized that flagship initiatives like the PM Surya Ghar Yojana and the PM-KUSUM Scheme are actively encouraging households, farmers, and industries across the state to adopt solar energy solutions. These schemes represent a transformative approach to energy access and sustainability.

Conference Co-convenor for UPEX 2026, UP Tripathi, announced that the main expo will be held from May 7 to 9, 2026, at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow. The event is expected to be a substantial gathering with participation from over 150 exhibitors from India and abroad, along with more than 60 speakers across 10 thematic sessions. These sessions will cover critical areas including technology innovation, policy development, and investment opportunities in the energy sector.

Vinay Kumar Tandon, President of the Eastern UP Chamber of Commerce and Industry, revealed that UPEX 2026 will feature dedicated segments such as the UP EV Expo, UP Smart Grid Expo, and UP Storage Expo. These specialized exhibitions will showcase the latest advancements in electric mobility, smart grid systems, and energy storage technologies, reflecting the comprehensive nature of the event.

Uttar Pradesh's Solar Energy Potential

Project Officer of UPNEDA in Prayagraj, Komil Dwivedi, noted that Uttar Pradesh possesses significant potential to emerge as one of the leading states in solar energy adoption under current government schemes. This potential is being systematically developed through coordinated efforts between government agencies and private sector partners.

Prashant Srivastava, Senior Manager of Sales & Marketing (BH) at KEI Industries Limited in Varanasi, shared his perspective on the expanding opportunities within the renewable energy sector, highlighting the growing business potential in this domain.

Platform for Ecosystem Strengthening

Senior Officer of MSME DFO in Prayagraj, Vaibhav Khare, stated that the expo will serve as a key platform for strengthening the solar energy ecosystem in Uttar Pradesh, facilitating connections between various stakeholders in the value chain.

Upcoming Awareness Events

Resident Officer of the UP State Chapter, PHDCCI, Shailendra Srivastava, announced that a series of additional awareness events will be conducted in other major cities across Uttar Pradesh. These include programs scheduled for Varanasi on April 7, Gorakhpur on April 17, and Lucknow on April 24, ensuring broad outreach across the state.
