UP: 62 Lakh Families Receive Housing Under Yogi Govt

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a significant announcement on Sunday. He revealed that Uttar Pradesh has achieved a major housing milestone. More than 62 lakh families across the state have now received housing benefits under government schemes.

Historic Housing Achievement

The Chief Minister spoke at a program held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow. He transferred the first installment amount to 2.09 lakh approved beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban 2.0. This latest addition brings the total number of beneficiary families to 62 lakh.

"For the first time since independence, such a large number of families have seen their dream of a permanent house fulfilled," Yogi Adityanath stated emphatically. He described this development as a historic step for poor, middle class, and urban needy families.

Ensuring Smooth Implementation

The Chief Minister issued clear instructions to ensure proper implementation. He directed that nodal officers should be appointed in all municipal bodies. These officers will monitor the process at every level.

Their responsibilities include preventing irregularities, ensuring timely availability of construction materials at appropriate rates, and releasing installments promptly to beneficiaries.

Financial Transfer and Cleanliness Drive

During the program, a substantial amount of money was transferred directly to beneficiary accounts. "Today, Rs 2,094 crore was sent directly to the accounts of beneficiaries," the Chief Minister announced.

He also highlighted the success of Swachh Bharat Mission in Uttar Pradesh. "Swachh Bharat Mission brought a revolution. People have now started living with cleanliness. The government removed mafia and people removed dirt, due to which Uttar Pradesh progressed," Yogi Adityanath remarked.

Special Timing and Appeal

The Chief Minister noted the auspicious timing of the installment release. It coincided with Mauni Amavasya, when approximately 4 crore people took a holy bath in Prayagraj's Triveni.

"Getting the first installment of housing scheme on such a holy occasion is a special gift for the beneficiaries," he observed.

While congratulating the beneficiaries, Yogi Adityanath made a special appeal. He asked them to write thank-you letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He expressed confidence that completing housing construction in a time-bound manner would make the state stronger and more self-reliant.

District-Wise Distribution and Economic Impact

The Chief Minister provided details about districts with the highest number of beneficiaries. These include Ghaziabad, Bareilly, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Pratapgarh, Aligarh, Bijnor, Kushinagar, Prayagraj, Ayodhya, and Maharajganj.

He cited specific examples to illustrate the broader impact of housing schemes. "After getting housing, families in Ayodhya and Sonbhadra started e-rickshaw operations, dairy work, and other activities. They achieved economic self-reliance," Yogi Adityanath explained.

Comprehensive Development Approach

The Chief Minister emphasized that housing represents more than just shelter. "This achievement is the result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision and leadership. Housing is not just a roof, but the foundation of self-reliance," he stated.

He highlighted that housing schemes come with additional facilities. These include toilets, electricity connections, Ujjwala gas, and Ayushman cards. This comprehensive approach ensures holistic development for beneficiary families.

The program featured virtual participation from Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. He addressed the gathering remotely, adding to the significance of the housing milestone announcement.
