Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Inaugurates Rs 24.5 Crore ITI in Mansa District

In a significant move to boost vocational education, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann laid the foundation stone for a government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Fatehgarh Sahnewali village, located in the Sardulgarh sub-division of Mansa district, on Tuesday. The institution, with an estimated cost of Rs 24.50 crore, is designed to accommodate 240 students and will offer specialized training in five high-demand trades.

Futuristic Training Programs and Infrastructure

The new ITI will provide comprehensive courses in:

  • Electrician
  • Mechanic Electric Vehicle
  • Refrigeration and Air Conditioner Technician
  • Industrial Robotics and Digital Manufacturing Technician
  • CNC Machining Technician

This initiative aims to equip Punjabi youth with modern skills, preparing them for emerging job markets in technology and manufacturing sectors.

Political Critique and Development Vision

Addressing a gathering in Sardulgarh town, Chief Minister Mann launched a sharp critique against previous state governments. He accused the Akali Dal and Congress of deliberately neglecting education in Punjab to benefit political families, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government operates on a new engine of development.

Mann stated, "Akali Dal is itself a dinosaur which has usurped the state and its people. While the AAP government is making strenuous efforts to prepare Punjabi youth for futuristic needs by making them doctors and engineers, the Akali Dal is bent upon dragging them back to the dinosaur era."

He further mocked the Akali Dal's Punjab Bachao Yatra, renaming it Parivar Bachao Yatra, and challenged Akali leaders to justify their actions after looting the state for 15 years. Mann also reminded the audience of the Akali Dal's support for the Narendra Modi government on controversial farm laws, contrasting it with AAP's welfare schemes like the Meri Rasoi Yojna, which will provide free quarterly food kits to 40 lakh families starting April.

Support from AAP Leaders and Economic Impact

AAP leader Manish Sisodia, present at the event, emphasized that the ITI project will significantly boost economic development and regional prosperity. Minister Harjot Singh Bains highlighted the institute's role as a game changer, opening new employment opportunities for common citizens. Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian also attended the ceremony, underscoring the government's commitment to educational advancement.

This initiative marks a pivotal step in Punjab's strategy to enhance vocational training and address unemployment through skill-based education, positioning the state for future growth and innovation.
