Ludhiana: Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has officially opened applications for its prestigious agricultural innovation awards, which will be presented during the September Kisan Mela. The annual honors recognize outstanding growers across several distinct categories, celebrating excellence in farming and water management.

Key Awards and Categories

Among the highlights is the Bhai Babu Singh Brar Best Pond Award, which carries a prize of ₹20,000 and rewards exemplary village water management. Individual crop accolades include the Pravasi Bharti Award for diversified farming, worth ₹8,000. Additionally, dedicated prizes are available for vegetable specialists, smallholders, and innovative women agri-entrepreneurs, ensuring a wide range of agricultural achievements are acknowledged.

Application Process and Deadline

Extension Education Director Makhan Singh Bhullar confirmed that nomination forms are available through regional agriculture and horticulture departments. Completed submissions must reach the university by June 30. Farmers and agri-entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply and showcase their contributions to sustainable and innovative farming practices.
