Kanpur: The country's renowned progressive farmer and Padma Shri awardee Bharat Bhushan Tyagi participated in the natural farming programme organized at CSA University. In his address, while praising this campaign of the Yogi government, he said that this campaign of natural farming is a historic beginning. The country's farmers will fully support it with body, mind and money to make it successful. From the stage, he gave positive suggestions before the government to make farming stronger and more effective.
First Suggestion: Strengthen Implementation Roadmap
Giving the first suggestion, he said that the roadmap to implement the excellent agricultural production policies of the Uttar Pradesh government on the ground should be further strengthened. Whatever excellent research or studies are being done in scientific laboratories, their benefit should reach as much as possible with government's help. Those excellent discoveries should be taken directly to the fields of common farmers with a scientific perspective, so that ordinary farmers too can easily understand these efforts of the government and apply them in their work.
Second Suggestion: Establish Farmer Organizations at Grassroots
As the second most important issue, he spoke about establishing farmer organizations at the grassroots level. He believes that to take government schemes to every farmer, there should be strong farmer producer organizations in every district of the state. When farmers have their own strong and active organizations at the district level, only then will they be able to unite and get the right price for their crop and find a better market.
Third Suggestion: Run Awareness Campaigns
In the third suggestion, he spoke about running awareness campaigns on the ground. He said that to make natural farming a movement, programmes should be organized in every village and rural youth should be prepared as ‘Krishi Prabodhak’, that is, trainers. These youth Prabodhaks, along with being aware themselves, will also motivate other fellow farmers around them to adopt natural farming.
