Over 60,000 in Gujarat finish census self-enumeration

The Gujarat government announced on Tuesday that more than 60,000 citizens in the state have completed the process of self-enumeration as part of the Union government's census campaign. A number of state ministers and officials have also participated in the process, according to an official statement.

Chief Secretary Leads by Example

On Tuesday, Chief Secretary M K Das took part in the self-enumeration campaign, filling in details about his family on the online portal. The statement quoted Das as saying that the system is very simple and transparent, and that more than 60,000 citizens have already availed of this service. He urged all government officers and employees to join the campaign.

Digital Census for Faster and Accurate Results

The Chief Secretary expressed confidence that the new digital facility will make the census process faster and more accurate in the coming years. Over the past few days, several ministers of the state government have also completed self-enumeration online.
