Jaunpur District Emerges as Top Performer in Uttar Pradesh's Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme
In a significant achievement for youth empowerment initiatives, Jaunpur district has been declared the top-performing district in Uttar Pradesh under the Chief Minister Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan. The district will be felicitated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on the occasion of UP Diwas for surpassing its target coverage by more than 100%.
Record Loan Disbursal and Statewide Rankings
As of January 22, Jaunpur ranked first in the state for loan disbursal under this ambitious scheme, followed closely by Azamgarh and Hardoi districts. This scheme represents a crucial pillar of the state government's comprehensive strategy to foster youth-led entrepreneurship, which is integral to Uttar Pradesh's broader vision of building a 1-trillion-dollar economy.
The current financial year has witnessed an overwhelming response from young aspirants across the state. More than 3.34 lakh youth have applied for loans under the scheme, far exceeding the government's initial target of 1.5 lakh loan disbursals set for the 2025-26 period. Out of these applications, over 2.81 lakh have been forwarded to banks for processing, with more than 1.03 lakh loans already disbursed to deserving candidates.

Jaunpur district has demonstrated remarkable success by disbursing loans to 3,315 youth entrepreneurs during this financial year. This achievement represents an impressive 32% exceedance over its target of 2,500 beneficiaries, showcasing the district's effective implementation strategies.
District Magistrate Dinesh Chandra Singh attributed this outstanding performance to a focused campaign that emphasized close coordination with banking institutions and extensive outreach programs targeting aspiring entrepreneurs. This systematic approach enabled the district to significantly scale up its loan disbursal operations and achieve unprecedented results.
Azamgarh's Remarkable Turnaround and Hardoi's Consistent Performance
Azamgarh district, securing the second position in the state rankings, has shown a dramatic improvement in its performance. District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar revealed that the district climbed from the 25th position before April 2025 to its current standing through strategic interventions.
The district administration organized block-level workshops and facilitated direct interactions between bankers and loan applicants, creating a more efficient and transparent process. Against a target of 2,500 loans, Azamgarh disbursed 3,219 loans, achieving nearly 129% of its target and demonstrating the effectiveness of its grassroots approach.
Hardoi district secured the third position in the state rankings by disbursing 2,628 loans against a target of 2,800. The district received an impressive 10,900 applications, indicating strong interest among local youth. District officials credited this performance to sustained special drives and rigorous monitoring mechanisms that ensured efficient processing and disbursal of loans.
