IAF Agniveer martyr's family gets Rs 21 lakh ex gratia

In a gesture recognising his sacrifice in the line of duty, the family of IAF Agniveer martyr Danish Alam of Kayamnagar village under Koilwar block in Bhojpur district was provided an ex gratia grant of Rs 21 lakh on Thursday. Danish was among five IAF personnel who lost their lives in a cargo aircraft crash at Jorhat in Assam on June 13.

The financial assistance was handed over to Danish’s parents by labour resources and migrant workers welfare minister and Bhojpur district in-charge minister Arun Shankar Prasad in the presence of Bhojpur DM Tanai Sultania.

“Alam’s supreme sacrifice symbolises his steadfast loyalty, devotion and sense of duty towards the nation. His contribution will always be remembered and will continue to inspire generations of young Indians,” said the district magistrate.

Expressing their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, both the minister and the district magistrate paid tribute to Danish’s courage, unwavering dedication to duty and commitment to national service.

DM Sultania also assured the family that the administration stands firmly with them and remains committed to providing all possible assistance and support.
