Haryana CM Releases Rs 858 Crore for Farmers, Women

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini took a significant step on Saturday by digitally releasing more than Rs 858 crore under key welfare schemes. The distribution strongly emphasizes women empowerment, agricultural sustainability, and household welfare across the state.

Major Focus on Farmer Support

Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh, Saini highlighted that farmers remain central to government policies. He stated that sustained efforts are underway to transform agriculture into a profitable and future-ready sector. This initiative aims to keep the next generation connected to farming.

Out of the total amount, a substantial Rs 659 crore was disbursed to farmers under five agriculture-related schemes. The government acted on the principle of supporting farmers from seed to market, releasing these funds as grants and incentives.

Breakdown of Agricultural Schemes

  • Crop Residue Management Scheme: Rs 461.75 crore was released as incentives to 5,54,405 farmers who avoided burning crop residue. Additionally, Rs 85.10 crore was provided as subsidy for 9,885 crop residue management machines.
  • Direct Seeding of Rice (DSR): Rs 75.54 crore was allocated to 31,605 farmers adopting this method.
  • Mera Pani–Meri Virasat scheme: Rs 15.75 crore was disbursed to 13,500 farmers for the Kharif season 2025–26.
  • Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana: Rs 20 crore was released as price difference compensation to 4,073 farmers cultivating potato and cauliflower.

Women Empowerment Initiatives

The Chief Minister also announced the release of the third instalment under the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana. Under this scheme, Rs 181 crore was directly transferred into the bank accounts of 8,63,918 eligible women beneficiaries. With this instalment, the total disbursement under the scheme has reached Rs 441 crore so far.

Saini shared encouraging participation details about the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi mobile application. Launched on September 25, 2025, on the 109th birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, the app saw 9,98,650 women apply by December 31, 2025. Out of these, 8,63,918 were found eligible.

Expanded Eligibility Criteria

To ensure wider inclusion, the eligibility income limit has been increased from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.80 lakh per annum starting January 2026. The scheme now also extends to mothers whose children meet specific criteria:

  1. Study in government schools and secure over 80% marks in Class 10 or 12.
  2. Achieve grade-level competency under the NIPUN Bharat Mission.
  3. Have been rehabilitated from severe or moderate acute malnutrition.

Eligibility verification occurs through the Parivar Pehchan Patra. Conditions require that family income does not exceed Rs 1.80 lakh and the mother has no more than three children.

Under this scheme, each eligible woman receives Rs 2,100 per month. Starting February 2026, Rs 1,100 will be credited directly into savings accounts. The remaining Rs 1,000 will be deposited in a government-operated recurring or fixed deposit account. This approach provides both immediate support and long-term financial security.

Household Welfare Measures

Providing relief to households, the government released Rs 18.56 crore as gas cylinder refill subsidy under the Har Ghar–Har Grihini Yojana. This initiative benefits 6,08,842 women. The subsidy for October 2025 was credited directly to beneficiaries' bank accounts. Subsidies for November and December 2025 will be released shortly.

Under this scheme, eligible women are assured a gas cylinder every month at a subsidised cost of Rs 500.

Government's Vision

During the press conference, Saini emphasized that the state government is committed to holistic development. Guided by the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, these efforts aim to strengthen social security and improve citizens' quality of life. The comprehensive approach addresses both immediate needs and long-term sustainability for farmers and women across Haryana.
