DoNER Lauds Mizoram Ginger Unit, CM Urges Faster Approvals

Union Secretary Chanchal Kumar from the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) visited Aizawl on Friday. He praised the recently established ginger processing unit in Mizoram. Kumar highlighted that ginger has become a major livelihood source for thousands of farmers across the state. Production levels continue to rise steadily, boosting the local economy.

Meeting Focuses on Development Initiatives

During his visit, Kumar held a meeting with Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma at the CM's office. The DoNER secretary emphasized the ministry's significant importance attached to this new processing facility. He stated that such units are crucial for enhancing value addition and creating sustainable income streams in the region.

Chief Minister Urges Expedited Approvals

Chief Minister Lalduhoma raised concerns about pending projects under DoNER's support. He urged the ministry to resolve these issues early. Lalduhoma stressed the need to expedite approvals and fund sanctions. He pointed out that delays often hamper timely implementation of developmental works, affecting progress in the state.

The discussion also covered various other developmental initiatives in Mizoram supported by the DoNER ministry. Both officials reviewed ongoing schemes and explored ways to enhance cooperation for regional growth.
