CM Revanth Reddy to Launch Phase 2 of Indiramma Housing Scheme

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is set to launch the second phase of the Indiramma Indlu housing scheme on Monday. During his visit to Komaram Bheem Asifabad district, he will also participate in the house warming ceremony of 28 houses constructed under the first phase of the scheme. Additionally, he will lay foundation stones and inaugurate various development projects worth Rs 112 crore, and address a public meeting.

Preparations for the Chief Minister's Visit

Excise and Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao inspected the arrangements for the Chief Minister's programmes on Sunday. The district administration has made elaborate preparations ahead of the CM's visit. To oversee the preparations, Adilabad district in-charge Minister Jupally Krishna Rao reached Kagaznagar on Sunday after traveling from Secunderabad in the Vande Bharat express train.

House Warming Ceremony for Kolam Tribe

The Chief Minister will perform the house warming ceremony of 28 Indiramma houses built for Adivasis belonging to the Kolam tribe in Kothari village of Kerameri mandal under the first phase of the scheme. The formal launch of the second phase and the public meeting will be held at Kagaznagar crossroads.

Minister Jupally Krishna Rao inspected the public meeting venue, parking facilities, helipad, stage arrangements, and other logistical preparations. He later held a review meeting with district officials.

Development Works Worth Rs 112 Crore

As part of the tour, the CM will lay the foundation stone for a 132/33 kV power substation in Koutala village of Chintalamanepalli mandal at a cost of Rs 56.5 crore. He will also lay the foundation stone for a solar power plant project costing Rs 6 crore in Nambala village of Rebbena mandal and launch the construction works for 33/11 kV power substations in Chintalamanepalli, Gudlabori, Kapuwada, Chintakunta, and Ankushapur.

"Through these substations, power supply in rural areas will be further strengthened, ensuring quality electricity for the agricultural, industrial, and domestic sectors," Jupally said. The Chief Minister will also perform groundbreaking ceremonies and inaugurations for nine development works worth Rs 15 crore in Asifabad municipality, and eight development works worth Rs 18.7 crore in Kagaznagar municipality. Jupally stated that through these initiatives, the government is prioritizing the expansion of power infrastructure, the promotion of renewable energy usage, and the development of urban infrastructure in the district.

Details of Indiramma Housing Scheme

In a statement, Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said that 4.5 lakh houses were sanctioned in the first phase of the Indiramma housing scheme. In the second phase, the government aims to construct another 2.5 lakh houses. "For the current financial year, administrative sanctions have been issued for a total of 3.5 lakh Indiramma houses, including one lakh houses under the CURP (City-level Urban Renewal Programme) and another 2.5 lakh houses in other parts of the state," Ponguleti said.

The central government provides only Rs 72,000 per housing unit in rural areas and Rs 1.50 lakh in urban areas for a limited number of beneficiaries. In contrast, the Telangana government is extending financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to each beneficiary. "The government has decided to extend financial assistance for the completion of houses sanctioned up to 2013 in Telangana region of the undivided state under the Indiramma scheme but left incomplete due to various reasons," he added.

Telangana State Formation Day Preparations

On the occasion of Telangana State Formation Day on June 2, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will hoist the national flag at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad. Keeping in view the prevailing heatwave conditions, the CM has directed officials to commence the programme at 8:30 am. The CM will first pay homage to martyrs at Gun Park before proceeding to the Parade Grounds for the flag-hoisting ceremony and ceremonial parade.
