Bihar Women Empowered by Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana Share Inspiring Journeys with CM Nitish Kumar

In a significant virtual gathering on Monday, numerous beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana (MMRY) connected via video conference to share their life-changing experiences directly with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The event highlighted the transformative impact of state government initiatives aimed at fostering women's economic independence and empowerment.

Personal Stories of Financial Transformation

Chandu Bharti, a resident of Muzaffarpur district, detailed how the MMRY scheme provided her with a crucial financial boost. She received Rs 10,000 under the program, which she combined with an additional Rs 10,000 loan to purchase a cow. This strategic investment has enabled her to generate a steady income through milk sales. Bharti expressed her future plans to establish a sewing centre, where she intends to train other women in sewing and stitching skills, thereby creating a ripple effect of economic empowerment in her community.

Similarly, Shabeena Khatoon from Nalanda district shared her journey from a life confined to domestic walls to becoming a budding entrepreneur. After joining a Jeevika self-help group, she utilized the Rs 10,000 financial assistance from MMRY to kickstart her business. With an upcoming additional assistance of Rs 2 lakh under the scheme, Khatoon plans to expand into the milk business by purchasing cows. She praised CM Nitish Kumar for his relentless efforts in promoting women's self-dependence and empowerment through various supportive measures.

Broader Benefits from State Schemes

The beneficiaries also recounted advantages from other government programs, notably the Mukhya Mantri Vridhjan Pension Yojana. They highlighted that the pension amount has been substantially increased from Rs 400 to Rs 1,100 per month, providing enhanced financial security for the elderly. This underscores the state's comprehensive approach to social welfare, integrating multiple schemes to uplift different segments of society.

These testimonials underscore the success of the MMRY in not only providing immediate financial relief but also in fostering long-term entrepreneurial spirit among women. The scheme's focus on self-help groups and skill development is paving the way for sustainable economic growth and gender equality in Bihar.
