Amit Shah Announces 'Bharat Taxi' to Empower Drivers, Create Jobs
Bharat Taxi: Amit Shah Announces New Driver-Centric Service

In a significant move aimed at transforming the ride-hailing ecosystem in India, Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has announced the imminent launch of 'Bharat Taxi'. This new initiative is designed to directly benefit cab drivers by ensuring they receive the full financial rewards of their labour, while also creating fresh employment avenues across the nation.

A New Model for Driver Welfare and Profit Sharing

Minister Shah made the pivotal announcement while addressing a conference organised by the Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO) in Panchkula. He highlighted a critical flaw in the current taxi service landscape, where several companies operate but the profits primarily flow to the owners of the platforms, not the drivers who perform the actual work.

Under the pioneering initiative of the Ministry of Cooperation, 'Bharat Taxi' will be launched soon with a revolutionary profit-sharing model. "The entire profit will go to our driver brothers," Shah emphatically stated. This model seeks to rectify the existing imbalance and place economic power directly into the hands of the drivers.

Comprehensive Benefits for 'Bharat Taxi' Drivers

The Union Minister outlined a suite of benefits that will be extended to drivers partnering with the 'Bharat Taxi' service. Beyond retaining all their earnings, drivers will be provided with insurance facilities, adding a crucial layer of financial security for them and their families.

Furthermore, to augment their income potential, drivers will be permitted to display advertisements on their taxis. This opens an additional revenue stream, ensuring that every aspect of the vehicle can contribute to the driver's livelihood. "Ultimately, all profits will go to them. This will enhance customer convenience," Shah added, indicating that a satisfied and financially secure driver base will lead to better service for passengers.

Boosting Employment and Cooperative Strength

The launch of 'Bharat Taxi' is firmly positioned as a major job creation engine. By establishing a driver-centric cooperative model, the initiative is expected to generate a substantial number of new job opportunities in the transportation sector. It empowers drivers to become true stakeholders rather than just service providers.

This announcement underscores the government's focus on strengthening the cooperative movement through the Ministry of Cooperation. By leveraging a cooperative structure for 'Bharat Taxi', the model aims to foster collective growth, shared benefits, and sustainable entrepreneurship among India's vast driver community, setting a new benchmark for the industry.
