Government Announces 20% Increase in Commercial Gas Cylinder Supply

The Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has declared that an additional 20% of commercial gas cylinders will be released shortly, maintaining the previous cost structures to support businesses and commercial establishments. This strategic move aims to bolster fuel availability and prevent any potential shortages that could disrupt commercial operations across the country.

Ensuring Adequate Kerosene Stocks for All Families

In a parallel development, the government has confirmed that sufficient stocks of kerosene are readily available to meet the needs of all households. This assurance is part of a broader initiative to ensure that no family faces fuel scarcity, particularly in regions where kerosene remains a vital energy source for cooking and lighting.

Himachal Pradesh Implements New Booking System and Anti-Hoarding Measures

During a review meeting on petroleum product availability, Himachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta outlined key operational updates. The booking system on Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) servers is set to become operational, enabling streamlined gas cylinder reservations. Gupta emphasized the importance of placing only one booking per household to avoid overloading the servers and ensure efficient processing.

Arrangements for Kerosene Distribution: To facilitate kerosene access, the state government plans to appoint two or three dealers in each district. This decentralized approach is designed to enhance distribution efficiency and ensure that kerosene reaches every family without delay.

Combatting Black Marketing and Hoarding: Special teams have been established in every district to proactively address issues of black marketing and hoarding. These teams are empowered to take necessary actions independently or in response to public complaints. Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activities by contacting the toll-free numbers 1967 and 1100, reinforcing a community-driven effort to maintain fair fuel distribution.

Smooth Domestic LPG Supply Confirmed

Chief Secretary Gupta reiterated that there is no disruption in the supply of domestic LPG cylinders, with distribution proceeding smoothly across Himachal Pradesh. This stability in domestic fuel supply complements the new measures for commercial and kerosene sectors, ensuring comprehensive fuel security for all residents.

The government's proactive steps, including the increased commercial cylinder release and robust kerosene stock management, reflect a commitment to preventing fuel shortages and supporting both commercial and household needs during critical periods.
