Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the PRAGATI portal on Tuesday. He spoke at a press conference in Lucknow about the state's massive infrastructure push. The CM highlighted how technology-driven governance is transforming project implementation.
Massive Infrastructure Portfolio in Uttar Pradesh
Yogi Adityanath revealed that Uttar Pradesh currently holds the largest infrastructure portfolio in India. The state has 330 projects underway with a total value of Rs 10.48 lakh crore. These projects span multiple sectors including family welfare, power, urban infrastructure, health, and industrial development.
Project Delivery and Progress
The Chief Minister provided detailed updates on project delivery. He stated that 128 projects worth Rs 2.37 lakh crore have already been commissioned. Projects worth Rs 8.11 lakh crore are progressing according to set targets. This demonstrates significant momentum in infrastructure development.
Adityanath emphasized the importance of sustained investment in roads and railways. He noted that these investments have been crucial in transforming Uttar Pradesh into a major transport and logistics hub. The state's strategic focus on connectivity is paying dividends.
Large Projects Under Implementation
Among the ongoing projects, 65 large initiatives worth Rs 4.19 lakh crore are particularly significant. The CM reported that 26 of these major projects have already been commissioned. Another 39 projects are at various stages of execution, showing continuous progress.
PRAGATI Portal's Role in Governance
Yogi Adityanath hailed the PRAGATI portal as a game-changer for inter-agency coordination. He described how the portal facilitates discussions among different departments. This technology-driven approach helps find solutions to complex problems quickly.
The Chief Minister stated that Uttar Pradesh has transitioned from being a "bottleneck" to becoming a "facilitator" and "accelerator." He declared, "Uttar Pradesh has now become a breakthrough state rather than a bottleneck." The PRAGATI portal has played a key role in this transformation.
Tangible Results from the Portal
Adityanath shared specific achievements made possible through the PRAGATI portal. Out of 515 topics discussed on the platform, 494 have been resolved successfully. The portal has helped meet targets for 278 out of 287 projects, demonstrating impressive efficiency.
The CM noted that the portal has resulted in rapid progress for projects related to highways, railways, power, and telecom sectors. He described this as "a model of good governance" that other states could emulate.
Credit to Prime Minister's Vision
Yogi Adityanath credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for the success of the PRAGATI initiative. He thanked the Prime Minister for creating platforms that strengthen "Team India's spirit." The CM emphasized that such technological tools reflect the Prime Minister's forward-thinking approach to governance.
The Chief Minister added that the PRAGATI portal has improved inter-agency coordination significantly. This improvement has made Uttar Pradesh more attractive to investors. The state's administrative leadership has shown strong decision-making capabilities through this platform.
