Yadav Gets MP Tourism MD Post After Indore Water Row

Former commissioner of the Indore municipal corporation, Dileep Kumar Yadav, has received a new posting. The state government appointed him as the managing director of the MP State Tourism Development Corporation on Sunday night.

Transfer Amid Water Contamination Row

Yadav was transferred from his position as IMC commissioner earlier this month. This move came amid the controversy over water contamination deaths in Bhagirathpura on January 2. Following that transfer, he was posted as deputy secretary in the panchayat and rural development department.

Major Administrative Reshuffle Before Davos

This appointment is part of a larger administrative reshuffle involving 26 IAS officers. The state government executed these transfers before Chief Minister Mohan Yadav left for the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos.

Several other key officers received new postings in this reshuffle:

  • Additional chief secretary Shiv Shekhar Shukla now holds the full-time charge of the home department. He was previously entrusted with the additional charge of ACS, home.
  • Principal secretary Umakant Umaro moves to the animal husbandry and dairy department.
  • Shobhit Jain takes charge as principal secretary of the Ayush department.
  • John Kingsley becomes secretary of the horticulture and food processing department.
  • Shriman Shukla assumes the role of secretary for planning, economics and statistics.

Additional Appointments in the Reshuffle

The reshuffle included several other significant appointments:

  1. Swatantra Kumar Singh is now secretary of the fishermen welfare and fisheries development department.
  2. Vishesh Garhpale takes over as managing director of the MP power management company in Jabalpur. He was already holding additional charge of this company.
  3. Alok Kumar Singh, who serves as secretary to the chief minister, receives additional charge of the mineral resources department.
  4. Dhanaraju S becomes commissioner of health services.
  5. Anay Dwivedi takes charge as commissioner of commercial taxes in Indore.

This comprehensive administrative reshuffle reflects the state government's efforts to reposition key officers across various departments. The timing, just before the chief minister's international engagement, suggests strategic planning in governance adjustments.
