Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has emphasized the need for a technology-driven and transparent recruitment process in the Indian Railways. He issued directives to Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) to enhance communication with candidates and stakeholders, while also ensuring prompt action to counter misinformation and maintain public confidence in the system.
Key Directives for Recruitment Boards
During a review meeting, Vaishnaw instructed RRBs to leverage technology to streamline the recruitment process. This includes digitizing application procedures, using automated systems for merit list generation, and ensuring fair and unbiased selection. The minister stressed that transparency must be a cornerstone of all recruitment activities.
Improving Communication
Vaishnaw called for better communication channels between RRBs and candidates. He suggested using SMS alerts, email notifications, and a dedicated portal for real-time updates. This will help candidates stay informed about exam schedules, results, and other important announcements.
Countering Misinformation
The minister also highlighted the importance of promptly addressing misinformation that can erode trust in the recruitment system. He urged RRBs to set up a rapid response mechanism to clarify false claims and provide accurate information to the public.
The directives come amid ongoing efforts to modernize the Indian Railways and improve its efficiency. Vaishnaw reiterated the government's commitment to fair and merit-based recruitment, ensuring equal opportunities for all candidates.
