Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government on Tuesday announced a significant reshuffle of senior IAS officers, bringing changes to key departments including finance, tourism, and disaster management, while also appointing a new managing director for Tasmac.

Key Appointments and Transfers

According to a government order issued by chief secretary M Sai Kumar, N Muruganandam, who recently returned from leave, has been posted as additional chief secretary and commissioner of revenue administration and disaster management. He replaces P Amudha, who was holding the additional charge of this position.

In another major move, M A Siddique, who served as additional chief secretary and managing director of Chennai Metro Rail Ltd, has been transferred and posted as additional chief secretary to the finance department. He takes over from T Udhayachandran.

Tourism and Tasmac Changes

S Swarna, previously principal secretary and state project director of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), has been appointed as principal secretary to the tourism, culture and religious endowments department. She replaces K Manivasan IAS, who was holding the additional charge of this portfolio.

The government has also placed the services of K Nanthakumar, registrar of cooperative societies, at the disposal of Tasmac for appointment as its managing director. He replaces T Christuraj in this role.
