Haryana Minister Anil Vij has issued a stern warning that those responsible for the theft of offerings from the Ram Temple will face strict action. Speaking to mediapersons on Saturday, Vij, who holds portfolios of Energy, Transport and Labour, gave a strong reply to the Opposition's criticism over the incident.
Vij Slams Opposition Over Hypocrisy
Vij accused the Opposition of double standards, stating, “The same people who are raising a hue and cry about the temple offerings are the ones who did not want the temple to be built in Ayodhya.” He emphasized that the theft case is being taken seriously and that the guilty will not be spared.
Personal Sacrifice for Temple Movement
The minister shared his own painful experiences during the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. “The real pain is for people like us who went to jail, were arrested and beaten up by the police in connection with the temple! I suffered a serious head injury and developed lumps, for which I underwent surgery three years ago,” Vij said. His remarks highlighted the emotional and physical toll that temple activists endured.
Confidence in Leadership
Vij expressed full confidence in Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting that they will ensure justice. “The Ram Temple is in Uttar Pradesh, and CM Adityanath Yogi and PM Narendra Modi will not spare the guilty. Ravana had abducted Mata Sita, after which no one was left in Ravana’s house to light a lamp,” he remarked, drawing a mythological parallel to underscore that wrongdoers will face consequences.
Case Details and Investigation
The theft of donations from the Ram Temple has sparked political controversy in Haryana. The opposition parties have been demanding a thorough investigation and accountability. However, Vij’s counterattack shifts the focus to the Opposition’s alleged lack of support for the temple’s construction. The minister’s statement aims to reassure devotees that the government is committed to protecting temple funds and punishing the culprits.
As the investigation continues, Vij’s remarks signal that the state government will not tolerate any disrespect to religious institutions. The case has drawn widespread attention, with many awaiting the outcome of the probe.
