Technical Snag Disrupts Water Supply in Indore

A technical snag at the Dewas Naka square tracker valve disrupted water distribution from several major overhead tanks in Indore on Tuesday morning. The issue affected water supply from overhead tanks located at Scheme No 114 Part-1, Scheme No 78, Scheme No 78 Slice 1 & 2, Rajiv Awas Vihar, Loha Mandi, Scheme No 113, and Scheme No 136.

Alternate Supply Arranged

To mitigate the impact on residents, the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) deployed extra water tankers to maintain an alternate supply line in the affected neighborhoods. IMC commissioner Kshitij Singhal confirmed the development, stating that the corporation is taking all necessary steps to ensure minimal inconvenience.

Official Inspection

Singhal, along with additional commissioner Ashish Pathak and other senior officials, inspected the site to oversee the repair works. The officials assessed the damage and coordinated efforts to restore normal water distribution as quickly as possible.

Cause of the Snag

According to officials, the technical fault was caused by a severe storm that occurred on Monday night. The storm led to pump shutdowns in Maheshwar, which in turn prevented several municipal water tanks from being filled to their maximum capacities. The repair team is working round the clock to fix the issue and resume regular water supply.
