The Tamil Nadu government on Friday effected a major reshuffle of IAS officers, with former Greater Chennai Corporation commissioner J Kumaragurubaran being posted as secretary to the commercial taxes, registration and religious endowments department. He replaces Shilpa Prabhakar Satish, who has been moved to the post of commissioner of labour.
Key Postings and Transfers
Dr S Swarna has been redesignated as principal secretary to the tourism, culture and special initiatives department. In another important appointment, Dr D Karthikeyan, who was previously principal secretary to the municipal administration and water supply department, has been placed at the disposal of the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) for appointment as its principal secretary-chairman and managing director.
The government also transferred Sandhya Venugopal Sharma, additional chief secretary and chairperson of TIDCO, to the planning and development department as additional chief secretary. Sandeep Nanduri, managing director of TIDCO, has been posted as special secretary to the industries, investment promotion and commerce department.
Other Changes
Among other transfers, G Prakash, formerly member secretary of the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority, has been posted as principal secretary/additional commissioner of revenue administration in the commissionerate of revenue administration and disaster management. Kiran Gurrala, who was commissioner of transport and road safety, has been transferred and posted as commissioner of town and country planning. D Baskara Pandian has been appointed as director of transport and road safety.
Dr K Vijayakarthikeyan, returning from leave, has been posted as director of fisheries and will also serve as managing director of the Tamil Nadu Fisheries Development Corporation.
Appointments in Environment, Health and Energy Sectors
The government posted Asha Ajith as director of environment and climate change, T Christuraj as director of survey and settlement, and T Charusree as director of treasuries and accounts. Dr T G Vinay, formerly managing director of Chennai Metro Water, has been posted as managing director of Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation. Dr S Aneesh Sekhar has been appointed as mission director of the National Health Mission.
