Poinguinim Gram Sabha Approves Enhanced Security and Infrastructure Measures
In a significant move to bolster local security and infrastructure, the Poinguinim gram sabha held a meeting on Sunday and passed several key resolutions. The assembly, presided over by sarpanch Savita Tawadkar and attended by all panchayat members, decided to expand the surveillance network and undertake crucial development works.
Expanding the CCTV Surveillance Network
The gram sabha resolved to install CCTV cameras at new strategic locations across the village. A primary decision was to set up a new camera connection at the Ardhofond junction. Furthermore, in a push for sustainable energy, the non-operational CCTV systems at Khawat and Sadolxem will be reactivated using solar panels. The villagers were also informed that they could submit proposals to the panchayat if there is an urgent need for a camera at any other specific location.
Preparations for PM's Visit and Infrastructure Development
In view of the Prime Minister’s scheduled visit to the Partagal temple on November 28, the panchayat has decided to erect a display board at Poinguinim bazaar to welcome him. To ensure smooth access for the event, the meeting resolved to clear the Hati-Pawl to Partagal road of overgrown bushes and tree branches on a priority basis. This work will be allotted to the concerned department at the earliest.
On the infrastructure front, Damodar Shenvi, the in-charge of the Poinguinim comunidade, announced that land has been officially allotted at Potkem for a playground, a crematorium, and a water storage tank.
Updates on Illegal Construction and Biodiversity Report
The gram sabha also provided an update on an ongoing issue, informing attendees that the panchayat has received no response from the government regarding a stop-work notice that was issued for an illegal construction at Galgibaga. Additionally, the local biodiversity committee presented a report detailing its recent activities to the gram sabha for review.
