Patna's PMC Holds Workshop to Boost Swachh Survekshan 2024 Ranking
Patna PMC Reviews Swachh Survekshan Preparations in Workshop

The Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) took a decisive step on Sunday to sharpen its strategy for the upcoming national cleanliness survey. A comprehensive workshop was convened at the PMC headquarters to scrutinize and streamline all preparations for the Swachh Survekshan.

High-Level Review for National Standards

The session was chaired by the Municipal Commissioner, Yashpal Meena, who led discussions with executive officers and senior staff. The primary objective was to ensure the city's readiness aligns perfectly with the stringent national urban sanitation standards. The workshop served as a critical platform to assess current progress and identify areas needing immediate attention.

Key Focus Areas and Action Plan

A thorough review was conducted on several core parameters of the survey. These included solid waste management, sanitation of public spaces, the efficiency of grievance redressal systems, and mechanisms to boost citizen participation. Officials also delved into strategies for enhanced field-level monitoring using technology and the execution of a detailed gap analysis to pinpoint infrastructure deficiencies.

Commissioner Meena issued clear directives for the swift implementation of corrective measures based on the findings. He emphasized intensifying Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaigns to engage the public and ensure complete readiness before the formal survey begins. To maintain rigorous oversight, Meena mandated twice-daily video conferences at 7 AM and 10 PM. These meetings will track daily progress and monitor developments on the ground.

Aiming for a Higher Cleanliness Rating

The entire monitoring framework is designed with a clear goal: to surpass Patna's previous three-star rating in the Swachh Survekshan. The strategy focuses on securing maximum points across all survey categories. A significant part of the discussions stressed the crucial role of citizens' compliance with waste segregation and disposal protocols. Active public participation in local sanitation initiatives was highlighted as a key driver for success.

This proactive workshop underscores PMC's commitment to transforming Patna's urban landscape and achieving a notable leap in the national cleanliness rankings.
