The district administration of Kangra has issued orders to suspend paragliding and drone flights in Palampur during the two-day visit of President Droupadi Murmu on March 9 and 10. The decision has been taken to ensure foolproof security arrangements for the President's program.
Details of the Suspension
According to an official spokesperson, the ban will remain in effect from 6 am on March 9 to 6 pm on March 10. During this period, no paragliding or drone operations will be allowed in the Palampur area. The order has been issued under Section 144 of the CrPC to prevent any untoward incident.
Security Measures
The administration has also directed all hotels, guest houses, and other accommodations in Palampur to report any suspicious activities to the local police. Security personnel have been deployed at strategic locations, and thorough frisking will be conducted at all entry points. The President is scheduled to attend several events in the town, including a public function at the CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology.
Paragliding enthusiasts and drone operators have been advised to comply with the orders strictly. Violators will face legal action as per the law. The district administration has urged the public to cooperate with security personnel for the smooth conduct of the President's visit.
This is not the first time such restrictions have been imposed during VIP visits in the region. Similar measures were taken during previous visits of high-profile dignitaries to ensure their safety and security.
