Noida Prepares 5,752 House Listing Blocks for Enumeration

The district administration in Noida has established 5,752 house listing blocks (HLBs) across both urban and rural areas in preparation for the upcoming house listing and enumeration exercise, officials confirmed. This initiative aims to systematically gather household data as part of the national census process.

Personnel Deployment and Training

A total of 7,135 personnel will be deployed for the exercise, including enumerators and supervisors, with a 10% reserve pool to account for any contingencies. The house listing and housing enumeration is scheduled to take place from May 22 to June 20. District magistrate Medha Roopam stated that manpower support will also be drawn from public sector undertakings (PSUs) such as Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited and GAIL (India) Limited to meet the staffing requirements for this large-scale enumeration drive.

"As the administration does not have as many staffers as required, we will be tapping into staffers from PSUs. Under the provisions of the Census Act, they will be considered as government officials and will be paid for enumeration as well," DM Roopam explained.

Enumerators and Supervisors

The district has planned to deploy 6,114 enumerators, including reserve staff, and 1,021 supervisors for field monitoring and verification work. Enumerators will be responsible for collecting household-level data, while supervisors will oversee the accuracy and progress of the enumeration process. Training sessions for the enumerators began earlier this week to ensure they are well-prepared for the task.

Distribution of House Listing Blocks

Among all administrative units, Greater Noida Industrial Township (G Noida ITS) has the highest number of HLBs at 2,313, followed by Noida ITS with 2,127 HLBs and the YEIDA region with 543 blocks. Dadri tehsil accounts for 332 HLBs, while Sadar tehsil has 62 and Jewar tehsil has 61.

Manpower Allocation by Region

For Greater Noida ITS, officials will deploy 2,519 enumerators and 419 supervisors, bringing the total workforce in the area to 2,938. In Noida ITS, 2,292 enumerators and 381 supervisors will be assigned, making the total deployment 2,673 personnel. The YEIDA area will see deployment of 495 enumerators and 83 supervisors, totalling 578 staff members.

Among municipal regions, nagar panchayat (NP) Dadri has 179 HLBs and will require 220 personnel, while NP Jewar has 44 HLBs with 54 staff planned. Smaller urban bodies such as NP Bilaspur, NP Rabupura, NP Dankaur, and NP Jahangirpur together account for a modest share of blocks and manpower deployment.

Reserve Workforce and Continuity

The inclusion of a 10% reserve workforce aims to ensure continuity of field operations in case of absenteeism or additional workload during the enumeration drive, officials said. This measure is designed to maintain the momentum and accuracy of the data collection process throughout the scheduled period.
