MCG Cleanliness Drive in Four Gurgaon Wards

The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) carried out a comprehensive cleanliness drive in four wards of the city on Thursday, ahead of World Environment Day. This initiative is part of a two-day special campaign launched by the civic body across all four zones: ward-10 of zone-1, ward-32 of zone-2, ward-4 of zone-3, and ward-22 of zone-4. The drive follows directives from the urban local bodies department.

Waste Segregation Awareness

During the drive, citizens were educated about the importance of segregating waste at the source. Residents were advised to separate waste into four distinct categories: wet, dry, domestic hazardous, and sanitary waste. This practice is aimed at contributing to a cleaner city and promoting environmental sustainability.

Community Participation

The drive saw active participation from councillors, ward committee members, Residents' Welfare Association (RWA) representatives, and local residents. Together, they conveyed the message of strengthening the sanitation system and raising awareness about cleanliness. Garbage was removed from roads, lanes, public places, vacant plots, garbage vulnerable points (GVPs), and other sensitive areas. Additional steps included bush cutting, debris disposal, and overall improvement of the sanitation system.

Officials and public representatives appealed to citizens to cooperate in maintaining cleanliness not only within their homes but also in surrounding areas. The message emphasized avoiding littering, keeping public spaces clean, and motivating others to adopt cleanliness practices.
