Jaipur Encroachment Drive: JMC, JDA Seize Goods, Free ₹50 Cr Land
Major Anti-Encroachment Drive in Jaipur Frees Valuable Land

In a significant crackdown on illegal occupation of public spaces, the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) and the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) launched synchronized anti-encroachment operations across the Pink City on Monday. The coordinated drives aimed to clear vital roads and reclaim valuable government land from unauthorized use.

Widespread Operations Across Key Localities

The enforcement teams covered a vast geography during their action. The JMC's vigilance wing focused on major market areas and arterial roads. Their operations spanned from Gandhi Nagar and Khatipura Railway Station to NRI Circle in Pratap Nagar and Mahal Road. Significant stretches of Tonk Road and areas in Luniyawas were also cleared.

Within the historic Walled City, the drive was particularly intense. Teams removed encroachments from prominent locations including Badi Chaupar, Choti Chaupar, Johari Bazaar, and Tripolia Bazaar. Other affected areas were Gopalji Ka Rasta, Chandpol Bazaar, Amer Road, and Subhash Chowk.

Fines Imposed and Goods Seized

The civic body's action yielded immediate results. Officials confirmed the seizure of 15 canters loaded with goods that were illegally placed on public land. Furthermore, the JMC imposed financial penalties on the violators, collecting fines totalling Rs 77,500.

Authorities issued stern warnings to those found encroaching upon public spaces. They were clearly informed that any repeat offenses would not be tolerated and would attract heavy penalties or strict legal action.

JDA Frees High-Value Government Land

Simultaneously, the JDA's enforcement team undertook a parallel mission to reclaim government land. Their efforts led to the liberation of parcels whose cumulative market value is estimated to be nearly Rs 50 crore.

The retrieved land includes plots in Nilay Kunj, Jagatpura. Additionally, the team cleared a 60-foot road boundary stretching from Gopalpura Bypass to Mahesh Nagar. In a crucial move against unauthorized urban expansion, the JDA also dismantled two illegal colonies that were being developed on approximately 10 bighas of agricultural land on Kalwar Road.

This large-scale, dual-agency drive underscores the administration's renewed focus on urban discipline and the rule of law. By reclaiming roads and high-value land, the authorities aim to restore public space, ease traffic congestion, and prevent the loss of government assets to encroachers.
