Haryana CM Chairs Key Urban Development Meeting, Approves Projects Worth Rs 127.87 Crore
A significant meeting of the High-Powered Works Committee (HPWC) under the Urban Local Bodies (ULB) department was convened on Wednesday, with Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini presiding over the discussions at Haryana Niwas in Chandigarh. The committee focused on deliberating major urban infrastructure and development initiatives aimed at enhancing civic amenities across the state.
Key Decisions and Financial Approvals
During the session, the committee reviewed three tenders with an initial estimated cost of Rs 136.64 crore. Following negotiations with bidders, the final approved cost was settled at approximately Rs 127.87 crore, resulting in substantial savings of nearly Rs 8.77 crore for the state exchequer. Additionally, the committee ordered re-tendering for a fourth project to ensure optimal outcomes.
Major Projects Approved
The approved projects encompass a diverse range of urban development works:
- Faridabad Water Supply System: A tender for providing a comprehensive water supply system under the AMRUT programme, targeting civic amenities and infrastructure-deficient areas in Faridabad town.
- Ambala City Road Sweeping: Mechanised and manual sweeping of roads within the municipal corporation limits of Ambala City to enhance cleanliness and urban hygiene.
- Gurugram Shrine Redevelopment: Balance works related to public health services, electrical systems, HVAC, and firefighting systems for the redevelopment of the Shree Mata Sheetla Devi Shrine Campus in Gurugram.
Emphasis on Timely Execution and Quality
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini underscored the importance of timely project execution and strict adherence to quality standards during the meeting. He reiterated the state government's unwavering commitment to strengthening urban infrastructure, improving service delivery mechanisms, and ensuring transparency in all public works. The presence of Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goel highlighted the collaborative approach towards urban development.
