The Gujarat state government executed a significant administrative reshuffle on Thursday, involving key appointments in major public sector corporations and municipal bodies. Key Transfers and Appointments

Shalini Agarwal, who previously served as the commissioner of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC), has been transferred and appointed as the managing director of Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL). This move places her at the helm of one of Gujarat's prominent power distribution companies, where she will oversee energy development initiatives and operational management.

In a corresponding appointment, Nagarajan M, the former vice-chairman and managing director of Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC), has been transferred to assume the role of the new municipal commissioner of Surat Municipal Corporation. His extensive experience in public transport management is expected to bring valuable insights to urban governance and municipal administration in Surat.

Additional Charge Assignments

The notification further clarified that Rajender Kumar, currently serving as the commissioner of transport, will hold the additional charge of vice-chairman and managing director of GSRTC. This interim arrangement ensures continuity in the operations of the state road transport corporation while a permanent appointment may be considered in the future.

These administrative changes underscore the Gujarat government's focus on leveraging experienced bureaucrats across different domains to enhance public service delivery and organizational performance.
