Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Inspects Transport Facilities in Burari

New Delhi: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday conducted a surprise inspection of Transport Department facilities in Burari and directed officials to improve public amenities, infrastructure, and service delivery. Gupta also inspected the under-construction Automated Testing Station (ATS), District Transport Office (DTO), Vehicle Inspection Unit, and Heavy Motor Vehicle Training Institute.

Automated Testing Station Review

At the ATS site, the chief minister reviewed the progress of construction and was informed that the facility would be able to test five vehicles simultaneously and carry out fitness inspections of 80,000 to 90,000 commercial vehicles annually. She directed officials to ensure quality standards and complete the project within the stipulated timeline.

Concerns at DTO Office

Expressing concern over conditions at the DTO office after interacting with citizens, Gupta pulled up officials upon noticing long queues outside the office and ordered immediate improvements in public facilities. Reviewing the overall condition of the DTO complex, Gupta said repairs alone would not suffice and asked officials to prepare a comprehensive redevelopment plan. The plan, she said, should include improved citizen amenities, parking facilities, green spaces, administrative offices, and training infrastructure.
