Buxar DM Inspects Town, Issues Strict Civic Directives

Buxar District Magistrate Conducts Rigorous Town Inspection, Issues Stringent Civic Directives

In a significant move to enhance urban governance, District Magistrate (DM) Sahila carried out an extensive inspection of key locations across Buxar town on Saturday. The inspection focused on critical civic issues, with the DM issuing strict orders concerning public cleanliness, traffic regulation, removal of illegal encroachments, and accelerating the pace of ongoing development initiatives.

Comprehensive Review of Public Spaces and Infrastructure

The DM's inspection tour covered several vital public areas, including Qila Maidan, the old bus stand, the Light and Sound complex, and surrounding zones. During the review, she emphasized the urgent need for improved civic management and the expedited completion of pending infrastructure projects that have been lagging.

Traffic Management and No-Vehicle Zone Directive

To address traffic concerns, DM Sahila ordered that the road leading to the guest house be officially declared a “no-vehicle zone.” This directive mandates that the area be kept completely free from general traffic. The executive officer of the Buxar Municipal Council has been instructed to install prominent information boards at the site and ensure rigorous enforcement of this new regulation.

Special Drive Against Encroachments and Parking Solutions

Expressing clear dissatisfaction with the severe traffic congestion observed between Model Police Station and Tadka Nala—primarily caused by illegal shops and haphazardly parked vehicles—the DM directed municipal officials to launch an immediate special drive. This initiative aims to systematically remove all unauthorized encroachments obstructing public pathways.

Furthermore, recognizing the need for organized parking, she issued instructions for the development of a proper parking facility at Ramrekha Ghat. Officials have been given a strict deadline of 15 days to complete this facility, ensuring convenience for devotees and local residents.

Accelerating Development Projects and Maintenance

While reviewing the progress of the Light and Sound project, DM Sahila directed authorities to repair all approach roads, conduct regular cleaning operations, and undertake plantation of trees along the roadside to enhance aesthetics and environmental quality. She stressed the importance of completing the project at the earliest possible date and establishing a permanent system for its ongoing operation and maintenance.

Additional renovation and improvement works were prioritized, including the renovation of the stage at Qila Maidan, laying of paver blocks, painting of walls stretching from the old bus stand to the Ramlila stage, and significant improvements to the drainage system to prevent waterlogging and sanitation issues.

Focus on Educational Infrastructure

The inspection also extended to educational facilities, where the condition of Jawahar Middle School was found to be unsatisfactory. In response, DM Sahila sought a detailed explanation from the school's headmaster and directed District Education Officer (DEO) Sandeep Ranjan to take all necessary corrective actions to improve the school's infrastructure and operational standards.

This proactive inspection underscores the administration's commitment to addressing long-standing civic issues, improving public amenities, and ensuring timely execution of development works for the betterment of Buxar's residents and urban landscape.
