Bhopal Residents Voice Concerns Over Dirty Water Supply in Ward 65
In Bhopal, residents of BMC ward 65 have raised serious complaints about the quality of their water supply, with reports and videos circulating that show allegedly dirty water. This has sparked significant concern among the local population, particularly in the Janta Nagar Colony area, where residents are demanding immediate action to address the issue.
BMC Official Responds to Allegations
City Engineer Udit Garg of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has responded to these complaints, stating that while a local politician had brought the matter to their attention, initial inspections revealed that the water in the pipeline was found to be clear. Garg emphasized that the BMC is taking the residents' concerns seriously and announced plans to conduct fresh water quality tests in the colony to provide reassurance and transparency to the affected community.
BMC's Proactive Measures Post-Indore Water Tragedy
In light of the recent Indore water tragedy, which highlighted critical issues in water safety, the BMC has intensified its efforts to ensure clean water supply across the city. Officials reported that as part of these initiatives, five water-related complaints have been successfully resolved, and 38 pipeline leaks have been fixed to prevent contamination and improve infrastructure reliability.
Additionally, the BMC has collected 148 water samples from various locations in Bhopal for thorough testing, aiming to identify and mitigate any potential risks to public health. These steps are part of a broader strategy to enhance water quality monitoring and maintain trust among residents, ensuring that such incidents do not recur in the future.
