Angshuman Dey, the joint secretary of the Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region, conducted a comprehensive review of development projects in Nagaland. He focused on the Prime Minister's Development Initiative for North East (PM-DeVINE) and schemes managed by the North Eastern Council (NEC).
Review Meeting in Dimapur
An official statement released on Monday detailed the proceedings of the review meeting. Dey examined the utilisation status of released funds under both PM-DeVINE and NEC schemes. The meeting also covered the submission of demands and progress reports from various departments.

Inspection of Key Infrastructure Projects
Dey personally inspected several projects constructed under the two schemes. He visited the construction site of the Tsitronge-Dimapur substation. This project involves building a 220/132kV (2×100 MVA) and 132/33kV (2×50 MVA) substation. It is being executed under the PM-DeVINE scheme.
He also examined the upgradation works at the radiation oncology department of the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research in Dimapur. Dey reviewed the progress of this healthcare project to ensure it meets quality standards and timelines.
Field Visits to Rural Development Projects
On Sunday, Dey carried out inspections of projects in Dimapur district. He visited Thiluxu village to review an NEC-funded initiative focused on value addition in coffee production.
This project includes the procurement of coffee roasting machines. It also involves capacity-building through entrepreneurship training for local stakeholders. The primary aim is to improve market access for coffee growers.
The initiative seeks to strengthen local enterprises in the coffee sector. It ultimately aims to enhance income generation for both coffee growers and entrepreneurs in the region.
Dey's visit underscores the government's commitment to accelerating development in Nagaland. His hands-on approach in reviewing fund utilisation and project progress highlights a focus on accountability and results.
