Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has called for a technology-driven and sensitive approach to policing in the state, stressing the need for modern and result-oriented training for police personnel. Addressing a gathering, he emphasized that the police force must evolve with changing times and leverage technology to improve law and order.
Emphasis on Modern Training
Adityanath highlighted that the police should undergo continuous training to stay updated with the latest techniques and tools. He urged the adoption of a 'modern and result-oriented' training module that focuses on practical skills and problem-solving. The CM also stressed the importance of sensitivity in dealing with the public, especially women and children.
Technology Integration
The Chief Minister advocated for the integration of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, and surveillance systems to enhance crime prevention and investigation. He mentioned that tech-driven policing would help in faster response times and better resource allocation.
Community Policing
Adityanath also emphasized the role of community policing in building trust between the police and citizens. He encouraged officers to engage with local communities and address their grievances promptly. The CM stated that a sensitive police force is crucial for maintaining social harmony and public safety.
Focus on Women's Safety
Special attention was given to women's safety, with the CM directing police to ensure strict action against crimes targeting women. He called for dedicated helplines and fast-track courts to handle such cases effectively. The police were also instructed to conduct regular awareness campaigns on women's rights and safety measures.
Accountability and Performance
Adityanath stressed the need for accountability and performance-based evaluation of police personnel. He urged senior officers to monitor the work of their subordinates and reward efficient performance. The CM warned against any laxity in duty and called for a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and misconduct.
The Chief Minister's remarks come as part of a broader effort to reform the Uttar Pradesh Police and make it more effective in dealing with modern challenges. The state government has already initiated several measures, including the installation of CCTV cameras and the use of drones for surveillance, to bolster the police force's capabilities.
