Vadodara Police Patrolling Before VMC Polls

Vadodara: City police on Saturday carried out patrolling in sensitive areas ahead of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) polls scheduled for Sunday. Senior police officials, along with personnel from various police stations, conducted area domination exercises on foot in identified pockets.

Security Measures Intensified

Paramilitary forces deployed for poll duty also participated in the exercise. Foot patrolling was undertaken in areas including Wadi, Panigate, Sayajigunj and Gorwa. Sources said the exercise had been intensified over the past few days to ensure visible police presence in sensitive locations.

Traffic Restrictions Announced

Meanwhile, police issued a notification restricting traffic movement on Tuesday, when votes will be counted for the VMC polls at the M S University Polytechnic. Traffic will remain closed on the stretch connecting Pandya Bridge to Fatehgunj Circle. Movement of vehicles will also be barred on the service road of Dashrath Bridge during counting of votes for the district panchayat polls, which will take place at M P Patel High School.
