The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) conducted the written examination for the Uttar Pradesh police constable and equivalent posts direct recruitment-2025 across the state on Monday. The examination was held in two shifts at 1,183 centres spread across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh, with elaborate security arrangements in place. The board confirmed that the recruitment test was completed in a peaceful, orderly, and transparent manner.
Attendance Details
A total of 9,62,832 candidates were scheduled to appear in the two shifts of the written examination held on June 8. Of these, 7,23,540 candidates appeared, resulting in an attendance rate of 75.15% across the state. Officials stated that extensive arrangements were made to ensure smooth conduct, including deployment of police personnel, surveillance systems, frisking at examination centres, and continuous monitoring of social media platforms to prevent misinformation and unfair practices.
Legal Actions Against Malpractices
The recruitment board reported that several cases were registered during the examination period against individuals and social media accounts involved in spreading misleading information, fake paper leak claims, and attempting to use unfair means.
In Azamgarh district, police registered a case against Ashutosh Kumar Maurya, son of Prem Shankar Maurya, for allegedly posting misleading information about the examination on social media. The FIR was lodged at Bilariaganj police station under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act. The accused has been taken into custody, and legal action is underway.
In Hapur district, a candidate named Sachin, son of Chhajju Singh and a resident of Amroha district, was found carrying a mobile phone, a prohibited item, during the examination. Suspicion arose when the candidate took an unusually long time in the washroom. A mobile phone was recovered from his possession. An FIR was registered at Pilkhuwa police station under the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination Act, 2024, and the candidate was arrested.
Similarly, in Gorakhpur district, a candidate identified as Ram Prakash Kumar, son of Jai Prakash Chauhan and a resident of Nalanda district in Bihar, was allegedly caught using a mobile phone inside the examination hall at Neena Thapa Inter College examination centre. Police registered a case at AIIMS police station in Gorakhpur, seized the mobile phone, and arrested the accused.
Strict Warning from Board
The recruitment board reiterated its commitment to conducting fair and transparent examinations and warned that stringent legal action would be taken against anyone involved in paper leak rumours, impersonation, use of unfair means, or any activity aimed at compromising the integrity of the recruitment process. Officials advised candidates to remain cautious of misleading messages on social media and avoid falling prey to individuals claiming to provide question papers, answer keys, or recruitment-related favours.
"The examination was conducted successfully across the state. Any person found spreading misinformation or attempting to manipulate the examination process will face strict legal consequences," the board said in a statement. The UPPRPB urged candidates to focus on the recruitment process and report suspicious activities to authorities rather than relying on unverified social media posts.
