Amit Shah's Strong Warning to Opposition in Bihar
Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the INDIA bloc during his election campaign across Bihar on Saturday, making bold predictions about the upcoming state assembly polls.
Addressing enthusiastic crowds in Purnea, Katihar and Supaul, Shah confidently stated that the NDA would form the government by securing 160 seats in the 243-member Bihar Legislative Assembly. He specifically targeted Rahul Gandhi, saying his political "dukaan" (shop) would soon shut down in the state.
Security Concerns and Infiltration Allegations
Shah accused Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav of attempting to turn Bihar's Seemanchal region into a "den of infiltrators." The senior BJP leader made strong commitments regarding national security, promising that the Centre would identify all illegal immigrants, delete their names from voter lists and deport them back to their countries.
"If you don't want infiltrators to decide Bihar's next chief minister, then defeat the RJD-Congress alliance that took out a yatra to save them," Shah told the gathering, directly referencing Rahul Gandhi's 'Voter adhikar yatra'.
Countering Opposition and Corruption Claims
The Home Minister didn't hold back in his criticism of opposition leaders, mocking RJD chief Lalu Prasad and Congress leader Sonia Gandhi by suggesting both were primarily worried about their sons' political futures. He specifically responded to Tejashwi Yadav's recent comment that "Modi can't do what Lalu did in seven births."
"That's true," Shah retorted, "Modi can't run scams like Lalu did." He went on to warn voters that electing RJD would bring back what he described as "jungle raj" in Bihar, recalling the party's previous rule in the state.
Shah highlighted that Lalu Prasad had even given a ticket to the son of late gangster Mohammad Shahabuddin, adding that "if such people come back, terror will rule again." He concluded his speech by claiming that both Nitish Kumar's two decades in Bihar and Narendra Modi's decade at the Centre had been completely free of corruption allegations.
