Punjab CM announces free bus travel for NEET aspirants

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday announced free travel on Punjab Roadways buses for students appearing in the NEET examination from June 20 to 22.

Sharing the announcement on social media platform X, Mann stated that students taking the examination would only need to show their admit cards to avail free travel.

"Many poor children appear for the NEET examination. Some do not even have enough money to travel to the examination centre," Mann said, adding that the decision was taken following requests made by students during AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal's interaction with NEET aspirants.

Kejriwal also shared a video message, noting that several students had sought assistance for travel expenses to examination centres, leading the Punjab government to provide free bus travel on Punjab Roadways buses during the examination period.

This initiative aims to ease the financial burden on students and ensure they can reach their exam centers without any travel-related stress. The free travel facility will be available on all Punjab Roadways buses across the state for three days.
