EC Seeks Public Feedback on New Unified Election App ECINet Before Launch
ECINet App Trial Open: Give Feedback by Jan 10, 2026

The Election Commission of India (ECI) is gearing up for a major digital leap with its upcoming ECINet platform. In a significant move towards greater transparency and citizen engagement, the Commission has thrown open the trial version of this unified application for public testing and feedback.

What is the ECINet Platform?

Slated for an official launch later this month, the ECINet platform is a single, unified application that integrates 40 separate election-related applications and websites. This ambitious project, piloted by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, aims to streamline access to a wide array of electoral services for the common citizen.

The development of the ECINet app began after its formal announcement on May 4, 2025. It has already undergone successful pilot runs during the Bihar assembly elections and subsequent by-elections held last year. The platform brings together essential services like the Voter Helpline app, cVIGIL for reporting violations, Saksham, the Voter Turnout app for real-time trends, and the Know Your Candidate (KYC) app, among others.

Key Features and Public Call for Suggestions

In a release issued on Saturday, the Election Commission outlined the enhanced capabilities of the trial version. The new app promises better voter services, quicker availability of polling percentage trends, and a revolutionary reduction in data publication time.

A standout feature is the publication of index cards—which compile comprehensive information and datasets from a recently concluded election—within 72 hours of the close of polls. This process traditionally took several weeks or even months.

The Commission has now invited all citizens to download the trial version and actively contribute to its refinement. Users can submit their suggestions until January 10, 2026, by using the 'Submit a Suggestion' tab within the app. The ECI has assured that feedback received over the next week will be examined, and viable suggestions will be incorporated to make the platform more user-friendly before the final launch.

A Continuously Evolving Digital Tool

The ECINet platform is not being developed in isolation. The Commission has stated that it is continually improved based on feedback from state and Union territory chief electoral officers, district election officers, observers, and other field officials. This public consultation phase marks the next step in its iterative development process, directly involving the end-users—the voters of India.

The all-in-one ECINet app is available for download on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. By consolidating numerous digital touchpoints into one, the Election Commission aims to demystify electoral processes, provide instant access to credible information, and foster a more informed and engaged electorate.
