Chandigarh: A four-day training program is preparing booth-level officers (BLOs) to launch a door-to-door enumeration blitz, utilizing an app-based booking system to streamline the city's voter verification process. The data collection teams aim to eliminate errors ahead of future polls.
Training Initiated for Special Intensive Revision
The Chandigarh administration's election department began mandatory training for BLOs on Saturday at MCM DAV College. This training prepares officers for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) ordered by the Election Commission of India.
Enumeration Process and Forms
Under the rollout, officials will visit every household to distribute and collect twin enumeration forms. Residents must sign and return one copy to their designated officer while retaining the second for their records. Alternatively, voters can update their registration online via the official federal voter portal.
During field operations, officers will process new registrations and address objections or corrections. The app-based system allows residents to schedule appointments with field officers through the ECINET mobile app.
Public Cooperation Sought
Authorities have urged public cooperation to ensure accurate voter lists. Residents requiring assistance can access a dedicated helpline or use the ECINET mobile app to book appointments with field officers.
