Voter Roll Verification: GB Nagar & Ghaziabad Hold Booth Camps on Sunday
Booth Camps for Voter Roll Check in Noida, Ghaziabad

Residents of Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad districts have a crucial opportunity this weekend to verify their voter registration details. Booth-level camps will be operational across all polling stations this Sunday to assist the public in checking the recently published draft electoral rolls.

Camp Details and Official Announcements

The initiative follows the publication of the draft electoral lists on January 6, which came after a two-month Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. District election officials have confirmed that Booth-level Officers (BLOs) will be present at their respective polling stations from 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday.

In Gautam Budh Nagar, District Election Officer and District Magistrate Medha Rupam stated that these camps will be organised at all 2,024 polling stations spanning the Noida, Dadri, and Jewar assembly constituencies. "Printed copies of the draft electoral rolls are available at all polling stations," she said. "On Sunday, BLOs will also read out the voter lists at their booths during Gram Sabha and Ward Committee meetings to facilitate verification."

Echoing this, Saurabh Bhatt, Additional District Magistrate (Revenue) and Deputy District Election Officer for Ghaziabad, confirmed that similar assistance will be provided across 3,358 polling stations in his district.

How to Verify and Correct Your Details

The primary aim of these camps is to aid voters, especially those with limited online access, in ensuring their names and particulars are correctly listed. Officials urge electors to use this chance to file necessary claims or objections.

Voters who find their names missing or details incorrect can submit applications during the ongoing claims and objections period, which remains open until February 6. The draft lists will also be available for public inspection at all polling stations until this final date.

The process involves specific forms for different types of requests:

  • Form 6: For new voter registrations.
  • Form 7: For deletion of names from the rolls.
  • Form 8: For correction or transfer of existing entries.

Completed forms, along with supporting documents, can be submitted directly to the BLOs at the camps, or at voter registration centres, tehsil offices, or the electoral registration offices.

Online Verification and Key Deadlines

For tech-savvy voters, multiple online platforms are available for verification. Individuals can check their status through the Chief Electoral Officer's website, the Election Commission's national voter portal, the Voter Helpline mobile app, or the respective district election portals.

However, the offline camps are a critical outreach effort to ensure no voter is left behind due to the digital divide. The officials have emphasized that this is a vital step in ensuring clean and inclusive electoral rolls ahead of future elections.

All corrections and applications must be submitted by the February 6 deadline to be considered for inclusion in the final electoral roll.
