Rajnath Singh Warns of Global Energy and Fertiliser Crisis from West Asia Conflict

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh issued a stark warning on Saturday, stating that the ongoing conflict in West Asia has the potential to escalate into a severe energy and fertiliser crisis in the near future. He emphasized that no nation, including India, would remain insulated if the situation deteriorates further.

Addressing Public Gathering in Haldwani

Speaking at a public event in Haldwani to commemorate four years of the Pushkar Singh Dhami government in Uttarakhand, Singh highlighted the gravity of the continuous attacks in West Asia. He described these developments as a matter of profound concern not only for India but for the entire global community.

Singh asserted that dialogue and diplomacy are the only viable paths to resolve such international crises. He warned of the broader repercussions of a prolonged conflict, noting, "No country in the world can remain unaffected. In this hour of crisis, India, too, could be impacted."

Praise for PM Modi's Leadership

Simultaneously, the Defence Minister credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi with ensuring that India has thus far managed to avoid entanglement in such geopolitical turmoil. He appealed to the public to rally behind the government's efforts on the global stage.

"I want to appeal to everyone - the efforts being made by Modi ji to resolve the crisis... the people of Uttarakhand should also extend their support," Singh urged during his address.

India's Enhanced Global Stature

Singh also reflected on India's evolving international influence, contrasting the pre-2014 era with the present. He remarked, "Earlier, when India spoke on international platforms, India's words were not taken with the seriousness they deserved. But today, the entire world listens to what India is saying."

This statement underscores the perceived strengthening of India's diplomatic voice under the current administration, positioning the nation as a key player in global affairs.

The Defence Minister's comments come amid heightened tensions in West Asia, including recent incidents such as missile exchanges and international condemnations, which have raised alarms about regional stability and its worldwide implications.
