Modi noted the significance of June 21 being observed as World Hydrography Day and highlighted the commissioning of INS Sanshodhak, India's most advanced hydrographic survey vessel. He said the ship would strengthen India's maritime mapping and research capabilities.

Emphasizing Bengal's historic maritime legacy, the Prime Minister said the state's connection with the sea has long linked India with the world. He added that critical minerals, deep-sea resources, and future energy opportunities will increasingly shape global maritime competition and economic growth.
